Just back from from a spot of record shopping up in central london. Im not going to start naming names of shops but the price of vinyl is disgraceful:yell: eg £9 for the new jackin records release. No wonder everyones on cd's these day.
I know that producers need to get paid and shops and distributors need to make money ect but c'mon - £9 for a one sided tune is steep.

Easy Brejner!! How you doing? Tell me about it. That's why I bought a set of CDJ's a few weeks ago with Serato Scratch Live. Much as I love vinyl I simply can't afford it! When are we gona see you again on Ice Cold then? You fancy dropping by one time on my show?

£1.49 V £9 i know where i put my money these days, i have now gone 2months without buying vinyl. The problem is its a catch 22 situation, vinyl sales are down, fact, record shops need to survive, the only way to do this is to increase prices...

Hello bud. Been a long time. Would love to come and guest on your show in the next few weeks as i havnt seen you for ages. An hour of chicago jackin house always seems to kick up a rumpus on ice cold. I was listening to Lynx the other day and i though derrick carter was in town - awesome stuff.
Been getting your txts - really glad to see that your out there making it on the dj / production tip.
In terms of vinyl, i just dont know. As Tony said - £1.49 per tune compared to £9. I went to see my bro play at the ministry a few months ago and he literally rocked up with 3 bits of vinyl and a pocket full of cd's. In his opinion he said that playing with vinyl is boring as you mix it in and then thats pretty much it. With the cdj's you can get upto all sorts of tomfoolery. My other bro who has just signed to sinnuous records hardly plays vinyl at all as he cuts his stuff straight onto cd (Whatever happened to dub plates in the dnb scene)
I personally love viny and will continue to support the independants. I appreciate that they cant negotiate the SOR deals that HMV can, therefore have to have the mark up, but as i said, £9 is just wrong

If you can get on mailing lists and pay upfront every year, that works out cheaper. But you can get alot of crap tunes for the post.
