There's always wicked stations, but *few* for me that become worthy of legendary....

From the first generation, the likes of Kiss, LWR, DBC, Horizon and Solar are the originators of the tower block stations.

Then its gotta be the likes of Fantasy, Friends, Sunrise, and the mighty Centreforce that had that pivotal period where house and techno and early hardcore emerged.... the Summer of Love period.

For hardcore, then Weekend Rush, Kool (big respects still in bizniz!), Eruption, Pulse, Rude and Ruud, and although I'm biased with this.... for me Don Don and er, Don!!!

Later, we've had Dream for the happy side, and the first crop of decent underground garage stations - Girls, London Underground, Freek and Dejavu.

The newest emerging legendary's for me are Passion and Shine...

Not forgetting the reggae pirates from the 90's and today too... actually they are the real legends - more so than the many house, garage or rave stations: Station FM (big up Keithly, long time trooper!!), Powerjam, Climax, Irie FM, Vibes 93.8, Lightning.....

On the subject of Flex. The original Flex was the 94 crew. Flex started up in the summer of 94, following Don's shutdown... shout out to the Dave (Easy D), the MC OC, and Nikki D!!

Totally agreed but it is good to see that pirate did realise this future about 4 years ago when Flex where the first to live stream on the net, now most pirates are doing it and living the best of both worlds for the time being.

What about MEDINA RADIO 102.2FM from Harlesden (about 1989ish)?

The most professional sounding shows ever, just like a commercial station but with proper music and decent DJs:D .

When most of the others relied on a pager for requests and dedications, these boys had the balls to use a landline (01-963 1143, of course):)

Anyone remember their weekly Transatlantic Dance Party? Live by satellite from the USA (yeah right!).

"Uh Uh! Don't touch that dial, keep it locked to Medina, ten twenty two FM"

Also have a lot of respect for Phantasy 98.1, Lightning 90.8, Powerjam 92.0 ("you don't need no piece of dial!"), Jok's Cafe (complete with washing-up noises in the background) and of course Friends FM 100.7. Mustn't forget my local heroes, Don FM either. Those were the days.

Didnt Craig'y B and Ganja MC try and bring that back last summer. Aint seen Ganja for ages. He had one of the best voice's for a MC.
